President Finally Admits His Support for Gay Marriage

Following four years of an absurd charade, President Barack Obama finally admitted what most of us knew all along – that he is an ardent proponent of homosexual marriage.

Starting in 2008, the president told us periodically that he was not in favor of gay marriage at this time, which is like a hawk insisting that he’s a vegetarian – for the time being.

But he still wanted “same-sex couples” to have all of the rights and benefits of those who truly are married. In three years in office, he established a record as the most pro-gay rights president in history – including successfully pushing repeal of don’t-ask-don’t-tell, thus allowing homosexuals to serve openly in the military.

In violation of his oath of office – to see that the laws are faithfully executed – he has refused to support the Federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), enacted in 1996, in various judicial challenges.

DOMA is all that prevents an activist federal judge from mandating homosexual marriage nationwide, thereby overriding the voters of a majority of states.

Finally, his hand was forced by his vice president and education secretary, both of whom recently affirmed their support of homosexual marriage on national television. Vice President Biden revealed that he got his profound perspective on homosexuality from the TV series “Will and Grace.”

The president made his we-always-knew-it confession in an interview with ABC News for broadcast on Thursday, which was released in part on Wednesday.

Though unintentional, the timing was significant. On Tuesday, North Carolina became the 32nd. state to write the Biblical definition of marriage into its constitution, by a vote of over 60%. Marriage protection has won each and every time it’s appeared on a state ballot, with the support of more than 50 million voters nationwide.

Evangelist Billy Graham publicly endorsed the North Carolina amendment and made one of his few policy pronouncements, declaring: “At 93, I never thought we would have to debate the definition of marriage. The Bible is clear – God’s definition of marriage is between a man and a woman.” Amen!

The lines of battle are clearly drawn. Homosexual activists are a key constituency of the president’s party. Here as elsewhere, his commitment isn’t to equal rights but special interests.

If Mr. Obama is reelected, will Washington declare war on Scripture as it has on the U.S. Constitution.? I ask you, if pastors won’t stand for marriage, what will we defend?  The purpose of marriage is clearly stated in Malachi 2:15 where God states that marriage is sacred between one man and one woman with the express purpose of creating godly offspring.

America is in jeopardy because heterosexual couples have treated marriage lightly and now homosexuals are attempting to redefine marriage.  The church is the only institution in America that can prevent that from happening, and pastors are the key to the church acting courageously, responsibly and – in a word -- Biblically.

Standing for Biblical values makes me “inappropriate”

As a recent article in The Denver Post noted, I am one of 36 conservative spokesmen targeted by the so-called Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAAD). The group is warning journalists that it is “inappropriate” to interview us on anything pertaining to the homosexual agenda, because of our “hatefulness.”

Beyond being honored to be in the company of such distinguished Christians as Gary Bauer, David Barton, Bill Donohue, Ken Hutcherson, Albert Mohler, Penny Nance and Tim Wildmon, I am appalled by the arrogance of this destructive movement.

Who are they to dictate who will be heard on an issue that profoundly affects our nation’s soul? Groups represented by the 36 targeted leaders have tens of millions of members. Who does GLAAD represent?

If standing for the Bible and the American tradition of open debate is “inappropriate,” I’m proud to be so.

Heartbeat Bill Needs Your Support

The Heartbeat Bill (H.B. 125) would prohibit 90 to 95% of all abortions in Ohio. By banning g abortions in the Buckeye State from the time a heartbeat is detected in the unborn child, it would save an estimated 26,000 lives a year. The legislation passed the Ohio House of Representatives last year and is now before the State Senate. With just weeks to go before a long recess, Ohio Senators need to hear from you. Please use the links below to see how you can help.
