Tulsa tea partiers rally at separate events

Tulsa tea partiers observed their least favorite day of the year with two rallies on Thursday evening.

One, at Expo Square, attracted what appeared to be several thousand people to a program that featured KRMG radio personalities Joe Kelley and Rick Couri and a fair dose of office-seekers, including Republican gubernatorial candidates businessman Roger Hubbard and state Sen. Randy Brogdon.

Politicians were personae non grata at the second rally, which drew about 100 people to the Civic Center Plaza. There, the program consisted mostly of people who wanted to step up to the microphone and say whatever was on their minds.
On the day federal income taxes came due, what most people in both places seemed to have on their minds was the size and cost of federal government.
There were some of the “Impeach Obama” and “Obama lied, the Constitution died” signs in the audiences, but most were more along the lines of one that read “Stamp Out Congress.”
