Vision New Mexico

The New Mexico Independent recently reported that the secretary of state estimates voter turnout in the June 3 primary could be as high as 70 percent. Voter registration is up across America as well according to a recent Associated Press survey. That same survey finds that there are more than 3.5 million new registered voters across the nation. Overall, the AP found nearly one in 65 adult Americans signed up to vote in just the first three months of the year. Historically, only a little more than 50 percent of voting-age adults cast ballots in U.S. presidential elections. By comparison, more than 70 percent of those in France and the United Kingdom go to the polls.
What does all this new voter interest mean? My hope is that Christians are tired of what they see our nation becoming, have awakened out of their apathy and are using the tools we have been given by our forefathers to turn this nation around. Americans can no longer stand by and let special interest groups dictate our way of life and the rise in voter registration may mean they are now mad enough to do something about it. Please join us in this most important fight by forwarding this email to all your friends and family. Thank you for your help to put this country back on the right track!

More and more we are seeing Christians persecuted for standing up for their beliefs. The "Philadelphia Five" grandma who peacefully tried to spread the gospel during a gay rally and was thrown in jail and originally sentenced to 20 years in prison for hate crime violations. The high school graduate who wanted to thank Jesus in her valedictorian speech and had the microphone turned off on her when she tried to do just that. The liberal movement wants freedom to express themselves but do not want Christians to be able to express themselves at all, especially if it is not in line with what they believe. This seems so hypocritical to me.  They preach freedom of speech but only their speech can be free.  How can it be that laws are being interpreted by judges and courts in America to actually discriminate against Christians and what we believe? Our founding fathers could never have envisioned the First Amendment being taken this far out of content. "Congress shall m ake no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
What can we do about it?
First, register to vote  if you have not already. There are two ways to register in New Mexico:
1.    The New Mexico Certificate of Registration Form ("New Mexico Form") is available at any county clerk's office, the Office of the Secretary of State or many state agencies that serve specific clients at those offices such as motor vehicle offices. A voter may request the New Mexico form by mail, telephone or in person at your local county clerk office. The New Mexico form is on cardstock, is a permanent record and is not available online. It may not be duplicated. You may also register with a Third-Party Registration Agent. To contact the Bureau of Elections, Office of the Secretary of State phone (505) 827-3600 or (800) 477-3632 or .
2.    The National Voter Registration Form ("National Form") is available online. This form may be downloaded or duplicated by any voter or organization.
Registering now will assure you are ready for the general election in November. Voting is the best way to make your voice heard. Don't believe the hype that your single vote does not count--it does.
Next, carefully study the candidates or propositions on the ballot. Do not rely on the mainstream media to give you an unbiased opinion of the candidates or the other issues on the ballots. Find news outlets that share your opinions and beliefs and rely on them to report the correct information to you. Vote, and when you do make sure your vote lines up with your beliefs.
Lastly, encourage all your friends and family to get involved and make sure they vote. And of course don't forget to pray.  The fervent prayer of the righteous avails much!  Remember to include the future of our country and the election of righteous leaders in your daily prayers. If we all work together we can make the changes needed to turn this country around.
