Dear Pastors,
The United States Government is about to pass legislation that will make Biblical preaching illegal. That may sound extreme, but it is nonetheless true and Pastors like you and me are the only ones who can prevent it from happening.
Would you consider joining thousands of other Men of God who will be addressing this wicked legislation from their pulpits on Sunday, June 14th? Would you please also encourage your people to call their Senators and express their opinion on this legislation? Our First Amendment right to practice our religion without governmental interference is at stake. A right that the government did not grant but rather one conferred upon us by our Lord and simply acknowledged by our Founding Fathers!
In April the House of Representatives passed hate crimes legislation that made behaviors the Bible forbids, and those who practice them, a protected class under the law. Representative Louie Ghomert from Texas, who is himself an attorney and former State Appellate Court Judge, stood on the floor of the House and reminded Congress that federal law holds those who induce a crime equally guilty. That means that you could be prosecuted if you preach against homosexuality and a crime is then committed by someone who hears you against a person in the stated protected class.
