But an analysis by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), a taxpayer watchdog group, of President Obama’s proposed budget baseline for fiscal year 2011 points out it actually could spur more like $8.5 trillion in deficits.

They were simply doing what Barack Obama himself does -- namely, just pulling numbers out of thin air.

Mass. Voters to Decide Fate of Obama's Agenda

BOSTON -- This isn't what Democrats had in mind. The race to fill the late Edward Kennedy's Senate seat in liberal Massachusetts neared its conclusion with not only its outcome but also the fate of President Obama's agenda in question. A win by Republican Scott Brown on Tuesday would eliminate Democrats' 60-seat supermajority in the Senate and imperil some of Obama's key legislative objectives, including an overhaul of health care -- a longtime cause of Kennedy's.

In promoting his health-care agenda, President Obama has repeatedly reassured Americans that they can keep their existing health plans -- and that the benefits and access they prize will be enhanced through reform. To be sure, it isn't easy to comb through their 2,000 pages of tortured legal language. But page by page, the bills reveal a web of restrictions, fines, and mandates that would radically change your health-care coverage.

Socialism Doesn't Work - Even In China
Jul 28, 2009
by: Dick Morris - GOPUSA
Buried amid its astonishing annual growth rate, even in the recession, is the sad story of China's socialist sector, a huge and perennial drag on its economy. The failure of government control amid the success of private initiative is a story that President Obama would do well to study as he brings government control and management to the automobile and banking industries in the United States.

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed? Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths: The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.
Obamacare - seniors will get mugged
Jul 24, 2009
by: Jim Brown - OneNewsNow.com
A health economist warns that President Obama's government-run healthcare plan may result in denying care to a significant number of Americans, especially senior citizens. Conservative opponents of President Obama's healthcare plan have been arguing that a government takeover of healthcare will allow Washington bureaucrats to use "comparative effectiveness research" to dictate to doctors which treatments they should prescribe and how much those treatments should cost. Critics say this will lead to rationing of care.

There is no shortage of threats to our economy. America's unemployment rate recently hit its highest mark in more than 25 years and is expected to continue climbing. Worries are widespread that even when the economy finally rebounds, the recovery won't bring jobs. Our nation's debt is unsustainable, and the federal government's reach into the private sector is unprecedented.

The glow is off the rose. The euphoria is gone. The thrilled, awe-inspired crowds are no longer there. No, that's not a reflection on the recent Michael Jackson media madness. Instead, it's a summary of the Obama family outing to Russia, Italy and Africa. Other than a week's respite from the deepening U.S. financial crisis, the collapse of constitutional government in Honduras, and staged photo ops, the trip yielded little to give the American people hope that the O-Team comprehends the dangers we face in this world -- or what to do about them.

Christians Move Past Rhetoric to Protect Judeo-Christian Values
Jul 02, 2009
by: Lillian Kwon - Christian Post Reporter
WASHINGTON – Faith-based organizations that subscribe to conservative social values have banded together to redefine the way the Church engages in culture and politics. Calling themselves the Freedom Federation, the groups see an urgent need to collaborate to protect the Judeo-Christian values that they feel are being threatened. Rather than approaching such issues as life, marriage, justice and politics as individual organizations, the Freedom Federation is hoping to get past the divisive rhetoric among Christians and tackle the issues together.

Judge Sonia Sotomayor may be a history-maker, but it’s more because of her Hispanic heritage than her womanhood. After all, it’s been decades since Sandra Day O’Connor broke the judicial glass ceiling by becoming the first woman on the U.S. Supreme Court. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg followed; thus, having a woman on the High Court became an accepted fact. Indeed, Sotomayor’s chief rivals for the new Justice position were all of the female persuasion.

Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL) have quietly re-introduced the federal thought crimes bill, H.R. 1913, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009. As has proved to be true in both Europe and Canada, this Orwellian piece of legislation is the direct precursor to freedom killing and speech chilling “hate speech” laws. It represents a thinly veiled effort to ultimately silence – under penalty of law – morally, medically and biblically based opposition to the homosexual lifestyle. The bill is expected to be marked up Wednesday before the full House Judiciary Committee.

When asked if fascism could ever come to America, Huey Long (the Depression-era governor of Louisiana) replied, “Sure, only here they’ll call it anti-fascism.” Hate-crimes laws are fascism in the guise of protecting minorities. Rick Scarborough Response: The Real Meaning of Religious Persecution
Feb 04, 2009

The editors of Spectator Magazine, one of my favorite publications, are to be commended for publishing information documenting the rise of serious persecution of Christians around the world, but Doug Bandow’s article, which I read with interest due to being alerted that my name was prominently displayed, owes an explanation to many for his initial paragraphs. Nowhere have I ever asserted that the persecution of Christians or Christianity in America is equivalent to that in many parts of the world, and I pray that I will never be compelled to say as much, but to summarily dismiss my contention that it has “begun†is to be less than fair with the facts. Thankfully, Mr. Bandow has agreed that he may have overstated his case.

Barack Hussein Obama is now the 44th President of the United States of America. I watched with great interest as he was sworn into office. The crowd, the atmosphere and setting were awe-inspiring. Having lived in the era of separate but equal schools and separate water fountains for blacks and whites, I was touched by the scene. I attended segregated schools through the ninth grade and was in the first integrated graduating class at Galena Park High School in southeast Houston. D.C. Federal Judge to Hear Newdow’s Attempt to Stop Inauguration Prayers
Jan 07, 2009
by: Pete Winn -- CNSNews.com
(CNSNews.com) - Will the Rev. Rick Warren be allowed to give the invocation at the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama? Maybe not, if atheist Michael Newdow gets his way. A federal judge said Monday that he will hear arguments by Newdow, the American Humanist Association and 38 other atheist groups and individuals out to stop prayers from being said on Jan. 20. U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton said he found “good cause†to hear Newdow’s case and set a hearing for Jan. 15.

Jan 06, 2009
by: Steven Ertelt - LifeNews.com
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Barack Obama is adding to the pro-abortion record he is building as the incoming president and he has tapped pro-abortion Virginia. Gov. Tim Kaine to be the next chairman of the Democratic Party. Kaine will step into the handpicked role later this month and mold the party to promote Obama's agenda. Kaine was one of the handful of people to make the short list for Obama's running mate last year and now the outgoing governor will be one of the point people for promoting Obama's message.

Attorney Generals to Challenge President Bush's New Abortion Rules for Docs
Dec 29, 2008
by: Steven Ertelt - LifeNews.com
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut says he will lead a fight against a federal rule issued by the Bush administration to protect doctors and medical facilities from being pressured to participate in abortions. The rule enforces federal law protecting the conscience rights of medical professionals. Though the new regulations have nothing to do with birth control, Blumenthal is echoing the arguments from leading pro-abortion groups who claim its access will be adversely impacted by them.

In the latest issue of Newsweek, editor Jon Meacham explains: "To argue that something is so because it is in the Bible is more than intellectually bankrupt--it is unserious, and unworthy of the great Judeo-Christian tradition." Indeed, he continues, "this conservative resort to biblical authority is the worst kind of fundamentalism." Curiously, he intends this as a defense of Lisa Miller's cover story, which announces that we should approve homosexual marriage because the Bible tells that Jesus would want us to.

Dec 09, 2008
by: Albert Mohler - AlbertMohler.com
Newsweek magazine, one of the most influential news magazines in America, has decided to come out for same-sex marriage in a big way, and to do so by means of a biblical and theological argument. In its cover story for this week, "The Religious Case for Gay Marriage," Newsweek religion editor Lisa Miller offers a revisionist argument for the acceptance of same-sex marriage. It is fair to say that Newsweek has gone for broke on this question.

Faith-Based Hospitals Could Close If Obama Signs Freedom of Choice Act
Dec 01, 2008
by: Penny Starr - CNSNews.com
(CNSNews.com) – Now that Barack Obama has been elected president, pro-life and pro-abortion groups are waiting to see if he will keep his campaign promise to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) into law and if faith-based hospitals and health care facilities will be forced to perform abortions or risk losing federal funding – a loss that could result in some health care providers closing their doors. “Well, the first thing I’d do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act,†Obama said at a July 17, 2007 meeting of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. “That’s the first thing I’d do.â€

Nov 19, 2008
by: Jeff Israely - Time
Though Barack Obama won't be announcing his foreign travel plans anytime soon, it's a good bet that the new U.S. President will meet Pope Benedict XVI sometime next year, perhaps in early July to coincide with the G-8 summit in Italy. It promises to be one of the great photo ops of 2009. Benedict sent a personal message to Obama the day after his victory, which referred to the "historic occasion" of his coming presidency; Obama subsequently telephoned the Pope as part of a round of calls to world leaders.

Nov 05, 2008
by: World Net Daily
U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter has rejected an emergency appeal for the court to halt the tabulation of the 2008 presidential election results until Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama documents his eligibility to run for the office, according to an attorney who brought the action that challenges the Illinois senator's standing in the race. However, the issue isn't going away, at least for now, since Souter set a schedule for a response from Obama to the challenge from attorney Philip J. Berg. As WND reported, Berg brought his claims to the Supreme Court after a federal judge dismissed his lawsuit alleging Obama is ineligible to be president because he possibly was born in Kenya.

Oct 27, 2008
by: Frank Salvato - GOPUSA
Barack Obama's short but illuminating conversation with Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher has ushered the subject of Socialism to center stage. By stating that he champions an economic policy that would "spread the wealth around," Senator Obama alarmed many Americans who recognize the parallels between his statement and one espoused by French Socialist Louis Blanc in 1840: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!" In defense of his statement, Obama, his campaign and his massive army of Obamabot surrogates have come out hard against those who are making the correlation between the Obama economic agenda and the Marxist economic model.

I have been blessed with a daughter named Tamara. You won’t be surprised to hear that people meeting her regularly break out singing – “The sun will come out tomorrow…†from the musical Annie. The song reflects Annie’s optimism and eagerness to meet her future, but if she studied ancient Jewish wisdom, she would actually sing, “The sun will come out todayâ€. Such a change would not only save my daughter from well-intentioned but unmusical humorists, it would also more accurately reflect a Biblical understanding of what a day really is. In the first chapter of Genesis, during the seven days of creation, the phrase “And it was evening and it was morning …†is repeated seven times. First comes evening, and thereafter, morning. God is teaching us that a complete day begins with the evening.

ROME (CNS) -- The Democratic Party in the United States "risks transforming itself definitively into a 'party of death,'" said U.S. Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, prefect of the Vatican's highest court. An interview with the former archbishop of St. Louis was published in the Sept. 27 edition of Avvenire, a daily Catholic newspaper sponsored by the Italian bishops' conference. The newspaper asked the archbishop, the new head of the Supreme Court of the Apostolic Signature, for his reaction to reports that his Vatican job was designed to get him away from St. Louis.

In recent days, a consensus has developed among the Obama campaign and commentators in the press that John McCain has decided to lie his way to the White House. Exhibit A in this new consensus is McCain’s ad, released last week, claiming that Barack Obama’s “one accomplishment†in the field of education was “legislation to teach ‘comprehensive sex education’ to kindergartners.†Within moments of the ad’s appearance, the Obama campaign called it “shameful and downright perverse.†The legislation in question, a bill in the Illinois State Senate that was supported but not sponsored by Obama, was, according to Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton, “written to protect young children from sexual predators†and had nothing to do with comprehensive sex education for kindergartners. In a stinging final shot, Burton added, “Last week, John McCain told Time magazine he couldn’t define what honor was. Now we know why.â€

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Joe Biden, Barack Obama's pro-abortion running mate, is coming under fire for comments he made today attacking vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. After attacking her on abortion, Biden then slammed Palin on the birth of her son, who has Down syndrome. During her acceptance speech last week, Paling promised the parents of disabled children that she would be their advocate in the White House. Biden questioned that commitment by attacking Palin's stance on the issue of embryonic stem cell research, which has never helped a single patient.

Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, Sen. Barack Obama’s choice for his vice presidential running mate, is a Roman Catholic with a long record of supporting pro-abortion causes and legislation. McCain assailed for opposing adoptions by gays
Jul 17, 2008
by: Associated Press
NEW YORK (AP) -- Advocates for gay and lesbian parents are denouncing Sen. John McCain, an adoptive father himself, for opposing adoptions by gays, which prompted his presidential campaign to clarify Tuesday that he does not seek a federal ban on the practice. Only one state, Florida, outlaws adoptions by gays, which have become commonplace in much of the nation. The Republican nominee-in-waiting was asked for his views on the subject in an interview published Sunday in The New York Times. "I think that we've proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no, I don't believe in gay adoption," McCain replied.

Phill Kline to share his faith at local event
Jul 17, 2008
by: Dianne Carroll - Kansas City Star
A conservative organization based in Texas is reaching out to pastors and their churches in Johnson County before the upcoming Aug. 5 primary. The Rev. Rick Scarborough, who founded Vision America, said this week that his group would not be endorsing any candidate. But Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline, who is seeking a full four-year term, is expected to share his faith at three of four events set up for clergy and at a public rally July 28, Scarborough said. Scarborough said Kline would appear not as a candidate but as district attorney. “We can’t endorse a candidate and don’t, but we do hope people will vote not as Republicans or Democrats but as followers of Christ,†Scarborough said. “We try to get Christians to vote their biblical values.â€

Last week's clash between Dr. James Dobson and Barack Obama is but the latest skirmish in a war that dates back to the time of Christ. At issue: What is Christian truth? Does the true Christian put social peace ahead of his duty to make God's Law man's law? In a speech in June 2006, Obama, citing the book of Leviticus, which declares homosexuality an abomination, noted that Leviticus also says the eating of shellfish is an abomination and condones slavery. Moreover, Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is "a passage so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application."

Christian Leader at Barack Obama Meeting Says He's Strongly Pro-Abortion
Jun 24, 2008
by: Steven Ertelt - LifeNews.com
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A leading Christian pastor who was one of several religious leaders to recently meet with Barack Obama says the presidential candidate is strongly pro-abortion. Dr. Rick Scarborough, a Southern Baptist minister, said the senator did nothing to reconcile his pro-abortion and Christian views. "Claiming you're a Christian isn't enough" to reassure pro-life voters, Scarborough said in a statement sent to LifeNews.com. "Here's a man who doesn't deviate one iota from the extreme left-wing of his party, when it comes to values issues," Scarborough charged.

Planned Parenthood Abortion Business Funding Removed From Troop Bill
Jun 23, 2008
by: Steven Ertelt - LifeNews.com
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A provision that would have given financial benefits to the nation's largest abortion business was stripped at the last minute from the War Supplemental Bill. Pro-life groups had complained the measure to help fund the troops should never have contained a section to fund Planned Parenthood. The bill is supposed to provide funding for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Torn over a non-germane provision, the House was set to debate the Senate's version of the bill, which gives breaks to the abortion business and other similar groups.

Jun 06, 2008
by: Randy Hall - CNSNews.com
(CNSNews.com) - The highest court in California Wednesday refused to stay its May 15 decision legalizing same-sex marriage in the state. Reaction was swift and strong on both sides of the issue, with defenders of traditional marriage calling the new decision a "crime against democracy," while proponents of same-sex marriage declared it "the death knell for gay marriage objectors in California." Rick Scarborough, president of the conservative group Vision America, issued a news release on Wednesday blasting the ruling as "an affront to democracy."

While California homosexuals overturned a ban on gay marriage this past week, Colorado atheists were busy trying to ban prayer from city council meetings. The intolerance of the homosexual agenda
Apr 20, 2008
by: Judge Roy Moore - WND
In the past, homosexuals have always called for "tolerance" and "privacy," but today they flaunt their perversion in public parades, "gay" television shows and Hollywood movies. Demanding laws for same-sex "marriages" and "hate crimes" legislation, they would require Christians and everyone else to recognize and never question their immoral lifestyle. Now homosexual advocates are moving to mandate their agenda of calling evil good by court orders and government regulation. Two recent examples bear witness.
