HATE THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT CONFERENCE

The anti-faith left is having a conference in New York City this weekend called “Examining the Real Agenda of the Religious Far Right,” sponsored in part by the City University of New York. The conference’s message: The Religious Right (i.e., Christian conservatives – that is to say, you and me) is hateful… So we should hate it.

It’s clear from the titles of presentations at the conference (“The Real Hidden Religious Agenda: The Theocratic States of America,” “Is an Unholy Theocracy Here?” and “On the Psychology and Theocracy of George W. Bush: Reflections in a Culture of Fear”) that the paranoid left believes those who are willing to stand for Biblical values want to establish a theocracy.

Was George Washington a theocrat? Was James Madison? How about Abraham Lincoln (who spoke of America as “this nation, under God,” in the Gettysburg Address)? Under the left’s twisted definition of the word, all of these great leaders would have to be considered theocrats.

I know of no Christian who wants to establish a government run by the clergy. (Which ones – Baptists, Pentecostals, Catholics?) What we seek is a return to the glorious vision of the Founding Fathers – One nation under God, with liberty and justice for all. There’s nothing radical or un-American about that. Until America began to unravel in the 1960s, it was the prevailing ethos.

The left despises and reviles us because of our longing to re-establish to the principles that made America great. I am honored to be reviled by such as these.

POLL SAYS AN OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF AMERICANS BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE LITERALLY

A just-released survey by Rasmussen Reports shows 63% of Americans believe the Bible is literally true and the Word of God. The anti-Bible left can take no comfort from this.

According to the survey, Republicans are more likely than Democrats to be Bible-believers (77% to 59%). Still, almost 60% of Howard Dean’s party believes the Good Book is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

While 59% of white Americans are Bible literalists, 71% of Hispanics and 82% of African-Americans take this perspective. The Bible is accepted as the Word of the Living God by 89% of evangelicals, 70% of other Protestants and 58% of Catholics. More good news, half of all Catholics in America believe it’s essential for their Church to “stick to the views that have guided it for centuries” instead of changing “to accommodate modern lifestyles.” Only 38% disagree.

The challenge, my friends, is to get America’s Christians to vote the Bible. (Some do, but not nearly enough.) If they did, Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer would be looking for retirement homes.

We have our work cut out for us, make no mistake. But we have something to work with!

MASSACHUSETTS PARENT ARRESTED FOR DEMANDING THAT HIS KINDERGARTENER NOT BE SUBJECTED TO HOMOSEXUAL PROPAGANDA

When so-called same-sex marriage was judicially imposed on Massachusetts, opponents warned that it would further the indoctrination of school children in the gay lifestyle. Sadly, the warning was prophetic.

On April 27th, a Lexington, Massachusetts father was arrested for trespass, after he refused to leave his son’s school until administrators promised that he and his wife would be informed before the school tried to brainwash their son, and they were given the opportunity to opt out of the indoctrination sessions.

David Parker and his wife were livid when they discovered that their child was being subjected to materials and discussions about “gay-headed households and same-sex unions.” Parker refused to leave a meeting with administrators of the Estabrook Elementary School until they promised to respect his parental rights. Instead, they had him arrested.

The militant homosexual movement has its tentacles sunk deep in the public education system. Liberal educators have become its allies in turning children against parental values and Biblical truth. Thank God one parent has the courage to say, “Enough is enough!”

The American Revolution started in Lexington, Mass., when the Minutemen refused to obey the British authorities and stop “trespassing” on the village green. With Mr. Parker’s heroic act of defiance, it could become a battlefield in the American revolution of today.

AL GORE MOVES ON – TO DISTORTING THE CONSTITUTIONAL OPTION

The man rejected by voters of his home state when he ran for president in 2000 has found a new cause – helping to maintain the un-Constitution filibuster to block a vote on Bush judicial nominees.

Speaking at one of a number of “emergency rallies” to maintain the filibuster, Gore referred to the Republican Constitutional Option as “a poison pill for America’s democracy” and “a dangerous heresy.” This is demagoguery at its worst!

A majority of democratically elected Senators voting to change the Senate’s rules is suddenly “undemocratic”? The casual observer would think that a minority blocking a vote on the nominees of a twice democratically elected president – because they knew they couldn’t win such a vote – would be the real offense to representative government.

Leftist Billionaire George Soros is pumping millions into this disinformation campaign on the Constitutional Option. If he wins, his side will have once again reversed a clear electoral mandate. Shame on us, if we allow them to (in effect) steal the last election.

ACTION ITEMS

Urge Your Senators To Support The Constitutional Option

A vote on ending the illegal, unconstitutional filibuster of conservative judges could come within the next few days. Sadly, due to the Soros/MoveOn.org gold-plated disinformation campaign, calls to the Capitol are running against us.

Time is short. Please, please, please contact your Senators and respectfully urge them to support the effort to change the Senate rules to permit up or down votes on conservative nominees for the federal bench. For information on how to contact your Senators, go to the Focus On The Family Citizen Link (http://www.family.org/cforum) and follow the instructions.

Sign The DeLay Petition

If you haven’t already done so, please go to http://www.stopactivistjudges.org and sign The Conservative Leadership Declaration In Support of Tom DeLay. You can add your name to those of Dr. Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Don Wildmon, Gary Bauer, Alan Keyes and other distinguished Americans who’ve signed.

As you may know, the House Majority Leader is under relentless attack for his call for judicial reform, in the aftermath of the Terri Schiavo affair. How can we not stand by a man who time and time again has stood up for Judeo-Christian values?

I intend to present a framed copy of the Declaration to Mr. DeLay on May 12th at a Washington, DC testimonial dinner for the Majority Leader. Please take the time to add your voice to ours.

National Day of Prayer

The president and the governors of all 50 states have proclaimed May 5th the 54th annual National Day of Prayer. This year’s theme is “God Shed His Grace on Thee” and is based on Hebrews 4:16 NIV – “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

The first National Day of Prayer was established before the United States was established – by proclamation of the Continental Congress in 1775. An annual National Day of Prayer was started in 1952. In 1988, the first Thursday in May was designated The National Day of Prayer.

There’s so much that we need to pray for this year – for our nation, for our leaders, for our families and for a return to the Godly values that made America the wonder of the world.

For information on how you can be involved with a National Day of Prayer observance in your area, go to http://www.nationaldayofprayer.org.
