VISION AMERICA CONDEMNS CRUELTY OF FEDERAL JUDGE IN STRIKING DOWN PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTION BAN June 3, 2004 Vision America today condemned a ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis Hamilton, striking down a federal ban on the cruel and inhuman practice known as partial birth abortion. Vision America President Rick Scarborough expressed "utter disgust"
at this decision. "Still," Scarborough continued, "all it took was one vote - that of a Clinton-appointed judge sitting in San Francisco - to nullify the will of Congress, the president and the American people." "What's equally outrageous in Hamilton's heartless attitude," Scarborough charged. In her decision, the judge said the degree of suffering inflicted on unborn children in these ghastly procedures is "irrelevant," when weighed against a woman's so-called right to choose (words which appear nowhere in the Constitution). "This is judicial dictatorship at its most horrendous," Scarborough declared. "A judge on the lowest rung of the federal judiciary -- using a judicially created concept (the 'right' to abortion) -- says the amount of pain inflicted on an innocent, unborn child is immaterial. Even convicted murderers get better treatment from the federal courts." Scarborough continued: "Like the weather, judicial tyranny is something everybody talked about but nobody did anything about - until now. There is a growing movement to restore the balance envisioned by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, whether through legislation, a Constitutional amendment or impeachment of judicial autocrats like Hamilton."
