Vision America President Rick Scarborough said he was "greatly encouraged" by news that the Senate leadership has scheduled a vote on the Federal Marriage Amendment on or before July 15th.

"The Federal Marriage Amendment is all that stands between America and the homosexual marriage," Scarborough declared. "Make no mistake, regardless of the rationalizations, any Senator who votes against this amendment is voting for homosexual marriage. They are voting to leave the issue in the hands of an imperial judiciary - which is the same as voting to re-write the age-old definition of marriage."

Scarborough noted that there are now petition drives underway in six states - Montana, Arkansas, Oregon, Michigan, North Dakota, and Ohio - to block homosexual marriage, via constitutional amendments to appear on the November ballot.

"Whenever the American people have the opportunity, they reject homosexual marriage by overwhelming margins," Scarborough said. According to the latest Wirthlin Worldwide poll, 67 percent of the American people support the Federal Marriage Amendment - including 56 percent of self-described Democrats.

Scarborough explained: "The whole idea of the FMA is to take this decision out of the hands of unelected judges - who are abusing their authority to force their social agenda on an unwilling nation - and give it back to the people and their elected representatives, where it properly belongs."

"A judge - elected by no one, accountable to no one - must not be allowed to change 3,300 years of Judeo-Christian civilization on a whim," Scarborough declared.

On its website (www.restorethecommandments.com), Vision America has published contact information for those Senators who have not declared their support for the Federal Marriage Amendment.

Vision America is also conducting rallies across the United States to draw attention to the offenses of judicial autocrats. The next Fight Judicial Tyranny/Support the Ten Commandments rallies will take place in Rapid City, South Dakota on June 22, and Provo/Orem, Utah on July 5.
