Vermont “Child Rapist” Judge
Should Still be Impeached

You know about the case of the child in Vermont that was continuously and viciously raped.  You know that she was first raped at the precious age of six and that she endured this violation for a period of four years.  And you know that perhaps the worst judge in the nation, Judge Cashman, sentenced her tormenter to a mere sixty days in jail.

However, did you know that Judge Cashman has labeled those that disagree with his decision as a “mob” and complained about his personal difficulty in having to endure such criticism?  What about the personal difficulty of the six year old girl that was raped?  Judge Cashman said it was "difficult to endure, in silence, the type of criticism leveled to date."  It appears that Judge Cashman is more concerned about protecting his own feelings than in protecting the sexual purity of six year old girls.

Wednesday, Judge Cashman ruled that the sentence may be increased from 3 to 10 years.  I believe that even this sentence is too lenient for such an unspeakable crime that lasted four years.  The Vermont Legislature has taken steps to impeach Judge Cashman.  They should continue to do so.

Americans Want Activist
Judges Impeached

According to a recent American Bar Association poll, the American people understand that judicial activism has reached a crisis stage and they want Congress to impeach and remove judges that legislate from the bench and strike down the will of the people.

The People are right!   Our Constitution and our history confirm that impeachment of activist judges is altogether fitting and proper.  Of the sixteen impeachments that have occurred in our history, twelve have been of federal judges.  The first federal judge was impeached in 1803 and three judges were recently impeached in the late 1980s.

Impeaching federal judges has always been appropriate. In fact, the very first impeached federal judge was removed for judicial activism - although in that day they called it "ruling contrary to law."

Today, we have many judges ruling contrary to law; too many in fact to impeach all at once.  Accordingly, Vision America is proposing a reasonable remedy to this problem.  In the weeks to come I will tell you more about this remedy and will ask for your help as always.

NBC Cancels Christian Bashing
“Book of Daniel”

On Wednesday NBC cancelled the Christian bashing “Book of Daniel.”  I am pleased that NBC cancelled the show, but in truth it should never have aired this anti-Christian bigotry in the first place.  The show never drew a significant amount of viewers.

The “Book of Daniel” is just further evidence that the war against Christianity is still being waged.  But we should be encouraged that when we stand together we are able to defeat these onslaughts against all that we hold dear.  I hope you will be able to join us at the “War on Christianity” conference in Washington, D.C. March 27-28 so that we can inform and equip you to more effectively defend against such attacks.

Senators on Alito

As of the writing of this report, it appears likely that Judge Alito will be confirmed as our next Supreme Court justice.  But as the philosopher Yogi Bera once said:  “it ain’t over till its over.”

A number of swing senators have committed to vote for Alito and several more have indicated that they will not support a filibuster.  Your e-mails and phone calls have helped bring around Senators Nelson (NE), Robert Byrd (WV), and Tim Johnson (SD) as favorable votes for Judge Alito.  Congratulations on your efforts!

However, some extreme members of the Senate appear ready to attempt a filibuster namely John Kerry and Edward Kennedy.  Therefore, we should not take anything for granted rather we should continue to keep the pressure on the Senate to allow a fair up or down vote and to confirm this well qualified judge.
