Round Two of the Human Cloning Debate in Missouri This Week

On Thursday evening Vision America will host its second “Christians Rally against Human Cloning” event at the Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  David Limbaugh, brother to Rush Limbaugh and author of the best seller, Persecution, will join Alan Keyes and me at the rally.  Our rallies are creating quite a stir in Missouri and increasingly in the national press, as the church is coming together to say in a united voice that cloning human beings for body parts is unacceptable.

This week we were informed that CNN is sending a crew to cover our rally in St. Louis on September 28.  And this week, we added our fifth rally to be held in Springfield, Missouri, which will be hosted by the historic Central Assembly of God Church in downtown Springfield.  We have now been requested to host two additional rallies, for a total of seven rallies across the state, as the Church is increasingly uniting in this battle for curbing the growing menace of science without God.

This week I discovered that Vision America was the featured organization on People for the American Way’s “Right Wing Watch” website.  It seems that with all the money being spent by the left, our shoe string budget counter-offensive is increasingly being viewed as a threat.

We are currently finalizing details for Dr. James Dobson and Focus on the Family to partner with us in this effort.  The entire nation will be watching Missouri this fall and Vision America is leading the way for the cause of life!  Please keep us in your prayers and forward this email to your friends in Missouri.

We Need a New Generation of
Charles Finneys

My good friend, Bill Federer, author and Historian, sends out a daily “American Minute,” which provides succinct historical reminders of our Christian heritage, each day.  On Wednesday he forwarded a report on one of my spiritual heroes, which I have copied for you.

Charles Finney died August 16, 1875. An attorney, he saw so many Scripture references in Blackstone's Law Commentaries that he bought a Bible and came to faith.  His Revival Lectures, 1835, inspired George Williams to found the YMCA-Young Men's Christian Association, 1844, and William Booth to found The Salvation Army, 1865.  Finney formed the Benevolent Empire - a network of volunteer organizations to aid with social problems - which by 1834 had a budget which rivaled the Federal Government.  Concerning the Kingdom of God, Finney wrote "Every member must work or quit. No honorary members."
While president of Oberlin College, 1851-66, it was a station on the Underground Railroad secretly bringing slaves to freedom, and granted the first degree in the U.S. to a black woman, Mary Jane Patterson.
Charles Finney wrote:

"The time has come for Christians to vote for honest men, and take consistent ground in politics or the Lord will curse them...

Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to their country as a part of their duty to God...

God will bless or curse this nation according to the course Christians take in politics."

It May Be Time for Preachers to Burn
their Tax Exemption Certificates

Our battles in Missouri over the human cloning issue is a fresh reminder of how the tax exemption known in the IRS code as a 501c3 status, is crippling the church and muting her historic prophetic role in America.  One of our greatest challenges in the state is overcoming the chilling effect on preachers brought by the fear of losing their tax exemption if they speak out on this issue.  Americans United Against Church and State, an unofficial arm of the ACLU, works tirelessly to exacerbate this fear by telling pastors that if they venture into political issues they face possible litigation and the loss of their tax exempt status.  Rather than take a chance, many pastors choose to avoid the issue altogether with the net effect, that the left often wins by default.

For that reason Vision America provides our Citizenship Manual complete with two pages of legal “do’s and don’ts” at every pastor event, and often provides a Christian attorney to consult with pastors, but in the final analysis, if the left succeeds in politicizing a clearly Biblical issue, such as cloning human beings for scientific experimentation, then preachers must be willing to weigh in regardless of the consequences.  Not until Jesus, His word, and His righteousness, means more to us than anything this world has to offer, will we see the revival that many of us long for.  For that reason, I am ready to burn our 501c3 if necessary to continue preaching righteousness and applying scripture to the great national debates of our time.

You can help me in this battle by making the largest gift you can, and by doing it without regard to tax exemption.  Vision America has a 501c4 which enables us to speak to political issues, but if you give to our 501c4, called Vision America Action, you cannot deduct your gift from your taxes.

Would you be willing to give just because it is right?  I need an army of givers who will support our new Vision America Action arm.  We will continue to do much education and c3 compliant work, but I must speak out clearly on political issues and our c4 allows me to do so.  If you can help us in this way, please click here and make a contribution.  You will not be able to deduct it, but I am convinced that God will bless you significantly for it.

God Bless you.  Please forward this email to your friends and encourage them to sign up for our alerts so they can pray for our efforts.
