Rick Scarborough to Stand for Life at Notre Dame

Today a gentleman entered my office and donated the $1,000 needed to pay for my trip to South Bend, IN to join Alan Keyes and Randall Terry in protest of Obama's commencement speech on Sunday at Notre Dame. This came after much prayer seeking God's direction and financial provision concerning whether or not I was to say yes to their request to join them and many others facing potential arrest tomorrow for standing for life on the Notre Dame campus.
Alan Keyes was recently released from the South Bend jail following his May 8th arrest along with 22 others who joined him in protest of Obama's upcoming speech. On Friday, Alan and Randall Terry, and dozens more will be entering the Notre Dame campus to again raise their voices in protest over Sunday's speech.
Barack Obama is the most extreme promoter and supporter of abortion this country has ever had for a President. This contradicts the truth of Catholic teachings, which Notre Dame claims to represent. My good friend, Cardinal Raymond Burke whom I worked alongside fighting embryonic stem cell research in Missouri, who is now in the Vatican, has condemned Obama's speaking at Notre Dame stridently, represents millions of practicing Catholics around the world. My good friend, Patrick Reilly, President of the Cardinal Newman Society, has gathered over 350,000 names on petition to the President of Notre Dame demanding that the invitation to speak be withdrawn. Abortion and the taking of innocent life is an offense to God and is worthy of the risk of arrest if that's what it takes to make our voices heard.
I will be arriving in South Bend Thursday to join them. It is my privilege to stand for truth and with courageous men and women, going to jail if called upon, to bring awareness to our nation that this madness must stop. Please be in prayer as we choose to take our stand for the sanctity of life.
